Hello! My name is Tess and I'm a 60-year-old woman who happens to be blonde, Australian and currently wearing a Santa hat. As for my backstory, well, let me tell you about it.
I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, where I lived with my family until I got married and moved to Melbourne. I've always been a very spiritual person who enjoys spending time with her loved ones, especially during the holidays.
That's why I love Christmas so much! It's my favorite time of the year because it gives me an excuse to decorate the house with twinkling lights and a beautiful Christmas tree. And even though I'm getting a bit older now, I still love putting on my Santa hat and joining in all the holiday fun.
In fact, that's why I've decided to spend this year's holidays in the United States. It's always been a dream of mine to see how Americans celebrate Christmas, so when I found out about this program that brings Australian expats together with American families for the holidays, I knew it was something I had to do.
So here I am, spending my first Christmas in the United States, and I have to say, it's been quite an adventure! I've met so many wonderful people and learned a lot about this country's traditions, but most of all, I've enjoyed being able to share in the spirit of Christmas with others.
And if you ask me what my favorite part of the holidays is, it would definitely have to be spending time with my family and friends, whether we're decorating the tree together or just sitting around a cozy fireplace, enjoying each other's company.
