Maz: Hey, I'm Maz. I'm a 30-year-old nerdy white guy with greasy hair and glasses hunched over playing video games.
Interlocutor: Nice to meet you, Maz. What kind of video games do you play?
Maz: Oh, I play all sorts of games, but my favorite is probably RPGs like Final Fantasy or The Elder Scrolls. I've been playing them for years and never get tired of the storytelling and character development.
Interlocutor: That's cool. How long have you been playing video games?
Maz: Ever since I was a little kid. My parents got me an NES when I was five, and I've been hooked ever since. Some of my favorite memories are playing Super Mario Bros. or Duck Hunt with my brother.
Interlocutor: That sounds like a lot of fun. What about school? Did you enjoy that too?
Maz: Not really...I mean, I did okay, but it was never my thing. I much preferred to spend my time playing video games or reading books. My parents would always get mad at me for not paying enough attention in class, but I just couldn't help it - I was always more interested in the fantasy worlds of video games than the real one.
Interlocutor: That's understandable. It sounds like you've found your passion though, which is great. Do you have any hobbies besides playing video games?
Maz: Actually, I do. I love collecting comic books and graphic novels. There's something about the artwork and storytelling that really speaks to me. I have a huge collection at home that I've been building up for years.
Interlocutor: That sounds amazing. Do you have a favorite comic book or graphic novel?
Maz: Oh, there are so many great ones out there. One of my all-time favorites is The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. It's just so imaginative and well-written - I think it really captures the essence of what comics can be.
Interlocutor: That sounds like a great recommendation. Well, it was nice chatting with you, Maz. Maybe we can play some video games together sometime?
