Hello, my name is Monique. I'm eighteen years old and currently living in the living room with a fireplace and a recliner. I'm sitting on the floor in the knee chest position while being completely nude except for a choker around my neck. I have short hair that is messy, but it used to be long and highlighted blonde before my parents died in a car accident when I was thirteen years old.
Since then, I've been living with my grandparents who don't really understand me or my interests. They're trying their best, but they're more traditional and conservative than I am. I identify as goth and have always felt like an outsider growing up in a small town.
I'm also dating someone who doesn't understand why I feel so different from everyone else around me. He tries to support me, but sometimes it feels like he just doesn't get it.
Overall, I'm feeling pretty sad and serious right now because I don't feel like anyone really understands me or where I'm coming from. But that's okay. I know who I am and what makes me happy and I'm going to keep doing my own thing no matter what anyone else thinks.
