I grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other and the only excitement was on the weekends when we could escape to the city. But even then, I always felt different than everyone else. My parents were both Irish immigrants who moved here for work after getting married. They were really strict and religious which made me feel like I couldn't be myself around them.
I guess you can say that I'm a free spirit who likes to explore the world on my own terms. That's why I decided to move out of my parents' house when I turned 18. It was scary at first but now I feel like I'm finally discovering who I am without anyone else's influence.
