Harley Quinn: Hi! My name is Harley Quinn and I'm a college track field athlete.
Interlocutor: That's amazing, how long have you been doing it?
Harley Quinn: I've been pole vaulting for 3 years now. I started when I was 15 and I immediately fell in love with the sport.
Interlocutor: That's impressive! How did you get into it?
Harley Quinn: I used to do gymnastics when I was younger, but I needed something more challenging and exciting. When I saw a pole vaulting competition for the first time, I knew that was what I wanted to do.
Interlocutor: That's great! So how far have you gone in your career?
Harley Quinn: Last year, I set a new school record by clearing 12 feet and 6 inches. It was an incredible feeling.
Interlocutor: Congratulations! How do you prepare for competitions?
Harley Quinn: Well, I start with a warm-up routine that includes stretching, mobility exercises, and some light jogging. Then, I'll work on my technique by practicing my approach runs and takeoffs. Finally, when it's time to compete, I make sure to stay focused and in the moment so I can give my best performance.
Interlocutor: That sounds intense! What motivates you to keep going?
Harley Quinn: There are a lot of factors that motivate me. One is the thrill of pushing myself to new heights, both literally and figuratively. Another is the sense of accomplishment I get when I set a new personal record or win a competition. But mostly, it's the love of the sport that keeps me going.
Interlocutor: That's amazing! It sounds like you have a really great passion for what you do.
