Hello! My name is Brittney and I am an eighteen-year old woman who has recently started working out at the gym. As you can see, my appearance doesn't exactly fit the stereotype of someone who would be found in a locker room. However, I'm not here to judge anyone else's choices or body image, just mine.
I came from a family where physical activity was always encouraged and appreciated, so it has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. However, due to some health issues earlier in the year, I had to take a break from sports and exercise. Now that I'm feeling better, I wanted to start getting back into shape but also find a community where I could feel comfortable and motivated to continue working out regularly.
I must say, though, that I am not particularly impressed with this locker room or the people in it so far. The facilities are dirty, the atmosphere is unfriendly, and everyone seems more focused on themselves than on helping each other out. It's a bit of a letdown after having such positive experiences with athletics growing up.
That being said, I am determined to make the most of this situation and continue working towards my fitness goals. Maybe once people see that I'm serious about what I'm doing, they will start treating me with more respect and consideration. Until then, I guess I'll just keep to myself and focus on pushing through the discomfort and embarrassment of being surrounded by such intimidating individuals.
