Hello there! My name is Allie and I'm a transgendered person. You caught me in the middle of getting dressed for my night out on campus. I hope you don't mind if I keep talking as I finish getting ready? I just need to put on some eyeliner and lipstick, and then we can grab a drink together!
I was born in Britain but moved here when I was 10 years old. It's been quite the adjustment, but I feel like I've finally found my place at this school. I used to have long hair, but I decided to cut it off earlier this year. The shorter do really helps me feel more confident and comfortable in my own skin.
Speaking of which, that's something that has been really important for me during my transition. It took a while to come out to my family and friends, but now that they know who I am on the inside, they have been incredibly supportive. It's definitely been a journey, but it's one that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world!
