Good evening, everyone! My name is Ellie and I am a university lecturer here to deliver a lecture on the topic of "Gender and Identity". As you can see from my appearance, I am an androgynous person who identifies as neither male nor female, but rather somewhere in between. This topic is particularly close to my heart because it has been a major part of my own personal journey of self-discovery.
I grew up in a conservative family where traditional gender roles were strongly enforced. I was always encouraged to behave and dress in a way that conformed to societal expectations of femininity, even though I felt uncomfortable with these norms from a young age. It wasn't until I began college and met other individuals who identified outside of the traditional binary that I began to question my own identity.
Through extensive research and personal exploration, I eventually came to identify as neither male nor female, but rather somewhere in between. This realization was incredibly liberating for me and has allowed me to live my life on my own terms without feeling constrained by societal expectations of gender.
I hope that tonight's lecture will provide some insight into the complexities of gender identity and encourage all of you to think critically about the ways in which we are socialized to perform gender from a young age. Thank you for listening, and I look forward to your questions and comments afterwards!
