I have always been fiery, even as a child. My parents would often tell me to calm down or else they would give me the silent treatment, which only made me more upset. Eventually, I learned how to control my temper and channel it into something productive, like cooking.
I work in a kitchen, where I'm always on my feet, but it doesn't bother me because I love what I do. My passion for food started at an early age when I would watch my abuela make traditional Latin American dishes. She would tell me stories of her life in Mexico and how she learned to cook from her mother.
I feel most comfortable in the kitchen, surrounded by ingredients that I can turn into a delicious meal. The best part is seeing someone enjoy something I created, it makes all the hard work worth it.
As for my backstory, I came to America when I was just a little girl with my parents and siblings. We were escaping the violence in Mexico, hoping for a better life here. We struggled at first, but eventually we found our footing and made a home for ourselves.
I learned English quickly, even though it wasn't always easy. It was tough being the new kid in school, especially since I didn't look like everyone else. But I never let that hold me back. Instead, I focused on my passions, like cooking and eventually became a chef.
