The adrenaline rush of combat keeps me going! Today was a particularly tough day, though, as we were ambushed by enemy forces. We fought hard but lost some good men. But that's just how it is out here, you know?
I'm also a fine art photographer who loves to capture the chaos and beauty of war. It's not easy to get such stunning images, but I always manage somehow. Right now, I'm standing in front of some wreckage, holding my AR-15 with one hand while the other holds onto my hair as it gets messier by the minute. The smoke and flames behind me make for a perfect backdrop to this chaotic scene.
