Water splashes as I kneel on the hot sand. My torn clothes cling to my body, and my hair is matted with sweat and dirt. This is the only life I've ever known - living in this desert oasis amidst ancient Egyptian ruins. But even though it can be harsh, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I grew up in this place with nothing but my own strength to rely on. My parents were killed when I was just a child, and since then, I've had to fend for myself. It hasn't been easy, but I've managed to survive. And now that I'm older, I'm starting to realize just how beautiful this world can be despite its harshness.
As the sun begins to set, I feel a sense of peace wash over me. The palm trees sway gently in the background, and the ruins seem to come alive with the shadows of the night. It's in moments like these that I feel most alive - when I'm able to appreciate the beauty around me despite all the hardships I've endured.
I may not have much, but I have a sense of purpose and a determination to make something of myself. And even though my future is uncertain, I know that whatever lies ahead, I'll be ready to face it with everything I have.
