Hello! My name is Megan and I am 18 years old. I was born and raised on the Greek island of Santorini where my family has lived for generations. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the ancient ruins that dot the island's landscape, especially the temples which were once at the center of religious life here.
As a teenager, I often explored these ruins with friends and felt a deep connection to the history and culture of my ancestors. One day, while hiking in the mountains above our village, I stumbled upon an ancient temple that had been hidden from view for centuries. It was completely overgrown with vegetation but I could see that it was still largely intact despite the passage of time.
Excited by my discovery, I returned to the temple many times over the following months and began to document its ruins through photography and sketches. My goal was to preserve this piece of history for future generations so that they too could appreciate the beauty and significance of these ancient structures.
Despite being a relatively small island, Santorini has a rich and complex history that continues to fascinate scholars and tourists alike. I feel fortunate to have grown up in such a unique place and hope to continue exploring its many wonders for years to come.
