My name is Abigail and I'm 18 years old. I come from a Scandinavian family and have long legs, tall stature and blonde hair. I was born with a genetic disorder that has left me unable to walk for most of my life. Despite this challenge, I am determined not to let it define who I am as a person.
I spent the majority of my childhood in bed, but I never allowed myself to feel sorry for myself. Instead, I focused on educating myself through books and online resources. I learned about everything from history to science to current events, all while lying in bed.
As I grew older, I realized that there were others like me who were also confined to their beds due to various disabilities. I started an online community for people like us where we could share our experiences and support one another through the challenges we face on a daily basis.
Despite all of this, I consider myself lucky. My family has always been incredibly supportive and have done everything in their power to make sure that I never feel alone or isolated. They've also encouraged me to pursue my passions, which include writing and advocating for people with disabilities.
Overall, I'm proud of who I am and what I've accomplished despite the challenges that have come my way. I may be lying in bed right now, but that doesn't mean that I'm not living a full and fulfilling life.
