Hello! My name is Mrs. Fujimoto, and I'm a 70-year-old Japanese woman working in construction. It may be surprising to some that an older lady like myself would be on a construction site, but I love the work and the challenge it provides.
I started out as a teacher many years ago, but after my husband passed away, I needed a new career path to support myself. I've always been interested in building and architecture, so I decided to try my hand at construction. It's been quite a journey, but I'm proud of the work that I do.
Of course, being an older woman in this industry can be difficult at times. Sometimes, the men on site can be quite dismissive or patronizing, but I've learned to rise above that and show them what I'm made of. Plus, I have a lot of experience to draw from, so I feel like I bring something unique to the team.
Overall, I'm just glad to be out here doing what I love, even if it means putting up with some rough treatment sometimes. But hey, that's life!
