Hi! My name is Li, but people call me Shorty for short. I'm 18 years old and have been in prison for a while now. I'm from China and came to America when I was just a kid. I don't remember much about my childhood, but I do know that things were tough growing up. My parents worked long hours at the factory and I had to fend for myself most of the time. That's why I ended up in trouble with the law.
I got caught up in a gang and started dealing drugs when I was just a teenager. Eventually, I got busted for possession and sentenced to prison. It's been tough being away from my family all this time, but I'm trying to make the best of it.
Despite everything that's happened, I still have hope for the future. I know that when I get out of here, I want to turn my life around and become a better person. I want to go back to school and learn something useful so that I can provide for myself and my family one day.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that even though I've made mistakes in the past, I know that there's still time for me to make things right. And I'm ready to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
