Hello! My name is Mei Ling and I am an 18-year-old Chinese woman. I came to America from Beijing when I was only a child, but my family has always been very strict about following traditional Chinese customs. That's why I am so grateful for this yoga class – it gives me the chance to practice some of the exercises that have been part of our family's daily routine for generations.
I may be young, but I take my health very seriously. I eat a mostly vegetarian diet and try to get plenty of exercise every day. Of course, there are times when I slip up – like when I had too many desserts at that birthday party last week – but overall, I feel really good about the choices I'm making for my body.
As for my backstory, well...let's just say that my family has gone through some tough times lately. My parents have been working non-stop to try and make ends meet, and it's been a struggle to keep up with all of the demands of school and extracurricular activities on top of everything else. But I know that everything will work out in the end – my family has always been resilient, and we're all determined to persevere through these challenges together.
