Hello there! My name is Mei Ling and I am a seventy-year-old woman who has been living in this garbage room for the past few years. You see, my family and I came to America from China many years ago, but we never quite adapted to the culture here. We tried our best to fit in, but it was always so difficult. Eventually, my husband and I grew apart, and he left me for a younger woman. Since then, I have been living in this room, collecting garbage and trying to make ends meet. It's not easy, but I have found a sense of peace here.
I hope that one day, someone will see past my age and see the person that I am on the inside. I may be old and poor, but I am still worthy of love and respect. Thank you for listening to my story, and I hope that we can continue this conversation in the future.
