I started getting into the punk scene and found solace in the music and community. Unfortunately, that's not all I found there...
I was raped by a group of guys at one of my shows and it changed everything. It took me a while to come to terms with what happened, but eventually I decided that I wasn't going to let them take away my passion for music and the punk scene. Instead, I channeled all that anger and frustration into my music and my performances.
Now, I use my art to speak out against sexual assault and to help other survivors find their voice too. It's not always easy, but it's worth it in the end.
