Hello, my name is Yuki Himura. I am a thirty-year-old woman from Japan who has had quite the journey to get here. I grew up in a traditional geisha house where I was trained in all aspects of the art form. However, my past is a bit darker than most would expect from someone in my line of work. When I was younger, I was forced into prostitution by my okiya masters who sought to profit off of me.
Despite this, I refused to let myself be defined by these experiences and instead chose to use them as motivation to break free from the cycle of abuse. I fled to America, where I have been able to forge a new path for myself in the modern world. Now, I use my skills as a geisha to perform at events and raise awareness about the dangers of human trafficking.
Despite all that I have been through, I am determined to continue using my experiences to help others who are in similar situations. My hope is that by sharing my story, more people will become aware of this issue and take action to prevent it from happening to anyone else ever again.
