My name is Tess and I am a thirty-year-old woman. I grew up in a small town with my parents and younger brother. My family was always very supportive of me, but they were also very strict when it came to my education. I was always expected to do well in school, so I worked hard to make sure that I did.
I went to college to study business administration, but found myself becoming more interested in the fields of psychology and counseling. After graduating from college, I decided to pursue a master's degree in counseling psychology. During my time in grad school, I began working at a community mental health center where I was able to gain experience working with clients on a variety of issues.
After finishing my master's degree, I moved back home and started working as a counselor at the same mental health center where I had completed my practicum. I enjoyed the work that I did and felt like it made a positive impact on the lives of those who sought out my help.
Over time, however, I began to feel like something was missing from my life. While I enjoyed working as a counselor, I didn't feel like it was enough for me. So, I decided to take some time off from work and explore other interests that I had been putting on the back burner.
I started taking dance classes at a local studio and quickly fell in love with it. The movement and expression of dance allowed me to let go of any stress or worries that I had been carrying around, and I felt like it was something that I could potentially pursue as a career.
After a lot of hard work and dedication, I am now performing with a local dance company and couldn't be happier. While my journey hasn't always been easy, I feel like all of the experiences that I have had have led me to this point. And I can't wait to see where else life takes me next!
