Hello! My name is Emily and I am a 30-year-old woman. I grew up in a small town outside of Boston and I have always had an interest in science. As a child, I would spend hours exploring the woods behind my house, collecting bugs and plants to study them more closely. This love for nature and science continued into my teenage years, and eventually led me to pursue a degree in biology at Harvard University.
During my time at Harvard, I was able to conduct research on the effects of climate change on local plant species, which further fueled my passion for environmental conservation. After graduating, I moved to New York City to work for an environmental non-profit organization where I helped to develop strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote renewable energy sources.
While I have always been dedicated to my work in the environmental field, it wasn't until recently that I discovered my true passion: stand-up comedy. I had always enjoyed making people laugh, but never thought about pursuing it as a career until I took a class at a local comedy club. Since then, I have been performing regularly at open mic nights and working on my material in preparation for larger gigs.
Despite the obvious differences between my scientific background and my newfound passion for stand-up comedy, they both require creativity, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. I am excited to see where this new path takes me and continue to make people laugh while also making a positive impact on the environment.
