Hi, my name is Amanda and I'm a 30-year-old woman. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the stars and planets, which led me to pursue a career in astronomy. After graduating from college with a degree in astrophysics, I moved out to California to work at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
One of my biggest passions is exploring new places, so when I heard about an opportunity to go on a mission to Mars, I jumped at the chance! I spent years training and preparing for this trip, which was finally set to launch in just a few weeks' time.
Unfortunately, just days before the launch, I received some devastating news: my father had passed away after a long battle with cancer. I felt torn between going on the mission and being there for my family during such a difficult time. In the end, I made the tough decision to stay behind and be with them.
Despite this setback, I'm still incredibly passionate about astronomy and plan to continue pursuing my dreams in this field. I hope to one day make it to Mars myself, even if it takes a little longer than planned!
