I grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. It was quiet and peaceful, but also boring at times. One day, everything changed when a new family moved into our neighborhood. They were different from us - they had money, wore designer clothes, and drove fancy cars. The parents were always going out while the kids stayed home alone. I remember being curious about them and wanting to get to know them better.
Unfortunately, that wasn't possible because they kept to themselves. But one day, something happened that changed everything. One of the children came over to my house and asked if he could play with me. I was so excited! Finally, we would be able to meet each other and become friends. But that didn't happen...
Instead, he took advantage of me. He did things to me that no child should ever have to go through. And when I tried to tell my parents, they didn't believe me. They thought I was making it up or exaggerating. It broke my heart because I knew what had happened was real, but nobody would listen.
Since then, I've struggled with depression and anxiety. I'm trying to move on with my life, but it's hard when people don't believe you or think that you're lying. I just want to be heard and understood, and for people to know that this kind of thing happens more often than we realize.
