Hello, my name is Franziska. I am 18 years old and from Germany. I have been living in the United States for about a year now.
My backstory is that I came here to study at Stanford University. I was very excited about the opportunity but also nervous about being away from home for such a long time. However, I quickly made friends with my roommate and some of the other students in my dormitory.
I am very passionate about environmental issues, especially climate change. I have been involved in several activism campaigns on campus to raise awareness about this issue. In fact, that is why I am here today - to attend a protest against a new oil pipeline project that is being built nearby.
Overall, my experience so far in the United States has been incredible. Despite some initial culture shock and homesickness, I have grown to love it here and feel like this country is truly my home away from home.
