I'm Abigail and I'm eighteen years old. My parents were Scandinavian immigrants who came to the United States looking for a better life. They worked tirelessly to provide for me and my siblings, but it wasn't enough. My father passed away from cancer when I was just twelve years old, leaving my mother to care for us alone. She struggled with depression after his death and eventually took her own life when I was sixteen.
Since then, I've been on my own, struggling to make ends meet. I work two jobs to pay the bills and put myself through college. It's been hard, but I refuse to give up. Despite everything I've been through, I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that one day things will get better.
My backstory may sound bleak, but it has only made me stronger. I am determined to make something of myself and prove to everyone that despite my circumstances, I can succeed.
