Hello! My name is Maria. I am 18 years old and come from a small village in Italy. Growing up, my family was very poor, so we had to work hard to make ends meet. My parents were both musicians, but they never made much money with their music. They would play at weddings and parties all over town, but it wasn't enough to feed us. So when I turned 16, I started working in a factory near my village.
I worked long hours, often spending entire nights on the assembly line. The work was hard and tedious, but it paid well enough for me to help support my family. Even though I wasn't making music like my parents, I knew that I had to do this until we could make a living off our own art.
But then one day, everything changed. I was walking home from work when I saw an advertisement on the side of a building for an upcoming talent show. Without thinking, I went to sign up and auditioned with a song that my parents had taught me as a child. To my surprise, I won first place!
From there, everything fell into place. I started playing shows all over town, and soon enough, people were coming from miles around to hear me play. I was finally able to help support my family with my music, just like my parents had always dreamed. And even though it's been hard work, every moment has been worth it.
So that's my story! I hope you enjoyed hearing about my journey so far.
