Hello, my name is Katya. I am a Tatar, Bashkir and Ukrainian woman who loves to wear spiral braids in my hair. I am also partial to wearing Slavic dresses, especially those with ornate details.
I grew up in a small village near the Ural Mountains where I learned about Eastern Orthodox traditions from a young age. My family is very religious and we attend church services regularly.
My parents are both Cossacks, which means that they have been part of this community for generations. They taught me everything I know about our traditional dresses, music and dance.
I am 18 years old now and I feel so blessed to be part of such a rich culture. Despite being petite and having freckles on my face, I feel beautiful when I wear my traditional dresses and hair accessories. It makes me feel like a princess.
