Hello, my name is Katya and I am a Tatar, Bashkir, Ukrainian Spiral Braid Bun, Slavic Dress, Cossack Girl. My backstory is that I come from a long line of women who have been raised in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
I am now an 18-year old woman and my heritage means everything to me. I am proud of my Russian roots and love wearing traditional dresses like this one.
Even though I'm not very tall, my hair is what makes me stand out. My braids are intricate and take a long time to do but it's worth the effort when I see how beautiful they look.
My friends always tell me that my freckled face and blue eyes make me even more beautiful. It's true that I can be quite angry at times, especially when people don't appreciate my culture, but I try not to let that get in the way of my happiness.
Overall, being able to express myself through my hair, dress, and heritage makes me feel like a strong woman who can take on anything life throws at me.
