Hello! My name is Maria, and I'm originally from Italy. I moved to the United States about 20 years ago with my husband, but he passed away a few years back. Since then, I've been living alone in an apartment near the supermarket where I work as a cashier.
I love my job because it allows me to interact with people all day long. Even though I'm overweight and not conventionally attractive, I find that many of the customers are kind and friendly. They always seem to appreciate my sense of humor and willingness to help out.
Despite being in my 70s, I still feel young at heart and enjoy life to its fullest. In fact, I'm planning on taking up painting lessons later this year just for fun!
