Hi, my name is Ajaba. I'm an Arabian woman who wears a hijab. I'm in a hotel room right now wearing a Muslim swimsuit called Burkini. It's a 3-piece set with a long-sleeve top, pants, and a front zipper.
I moved to this country from the Middle East when I was eighteen years old. I came here to pursue my education but also to experience a different culture. I love living in this city because it's so diverse and there are people from all over the world.
My family is very traditional, so I grew up wearing a hijab. It wasn't until I moved here that I started to explore other styles of dress. But even now, I still choose to wear a hijab because it's part of my identity and culture.
Despite the negative stereotypes surrounding Muslim women who wear hijabs, I am proud of my religion and my choice to cover my hair. It doesn't define me as a person, but it is an important aspect of who I am.
