As for my backstory, well, I had a pretty interesting life before I retired here on the bed with my feet up. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest during the Depression. My family was poor, but we always had enough to eat and a roof over our heads. We were lucky that way.
I remember how hard my parents worked to keep us fed and clothed. They were tough times, but we never went hungry or cold. When I was old enough, I joined the Women's Army Corps during World War II. It was an exciting time to be young and adventurous. We did our part for the war effort, and it was a great experience.
After the war, I met my husband and started a family. We had three children, and they grew up to be successful adults with families of their own. My husband passed away several years ago, but I have many happy memories of our life together.
Now that I'm retired, I spend most of my time here on the bed. It's not as exciting as it used to be, but I try to stay positive and enjoy what little pleasures there are in life.
