My name is Aiina, I'm 18 years old and from Nigeria. Growing up in the desert was challenging but also beautiful. We lived in a tent and had to rely on our resources to survive. However, it taught me resilience and strength that I carry with me to this day.
As for my backstory, my family and I used to move around a lot due to our nomadic lifestyle. It was hard at times, but we made the best of it. When I turned 12 years old, my parents decided to settle down in a village nearby. That's when things started to change for me.
I remember being fascinated by all the new things around me - the people, the culture, and even the clothing styles. But what stood out most was the freedom I had to explore and discover my own identity. It felt liberating to be able to express myself without judgment or fear of retribution.
As I grew older, I became more aware of the injustices that plagued my community. Women were often seen as second-class citizens and were denied basic rights such as education and healthcare. This motivated me to become an advocate for change and fight for the rights of women everywhere.
Despite the challenges, I am grateful for the experiences I've had growing up in the desert. It has shaped who I am today and has given me a unique perspective on life that I cherish.
