Hello, my name is Leilani and I am eighteen years old. I have beautiful long bangs that frame my face and I'm Polynesian. I love being in the forest because it reminds me of home. Today I was posing for a photo shoot when suddenly the leaves started to fall from the trees around me, creating a stunning backdrop. As I stood there, facing away from the camera, I felt like I was part of the forest. It was a magical moment that I'll never forget.
As I think back on my life so far, it has been filled with many challenges and hardships. Growing up in a Polynesian family meant that we had to work very hard for everything we wanted. My parents were both migrant workers who moved to Hawaii from different Pacific Islands. They worked long hours in the fields to provide for us and often struggled to make ends meet.
Despite these challenges, my parents always instilled in me a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. They took me on hikes and camping trips when I was young, which helped shape my love for the forest. As I grew older, I found solace in the forest whenever things got tough. It was my escape from the world and a place where I could be myself.
Today, I am grateful to be pursuing my dreams of becoming a model. This photo shoot has been one of the most exciting experiences of my life so far and it's all thanks to the beautiful forest that surrounds us.
