I've been working at this store for a while now, but before that, I was a regular customer. I used to come in here with my boyfriend all the time to buy clothes and shoes. He was so sweet and always made sure I looked good. We were young and carefree back then, just starting out on our own.
One day, he surprised me with a beautiful pair of earrings that he had picked up while he was shopping for himself. They were really unique and I loved them. He said they reminded him of my eyes - they were so bright and sparkly like the diamonds in those earrings.
We spent most of our time together exploring the city, trying new restaurants and bars, and going to concerts. We were both huge music fans and would always dance around like crazy when our favorite bands played.
I remember one night especially well - it was at a small club in the city. We had been there all night dancing and singing along with the band. When they took a break, my boyfriend pulled me out onto the dance floor and got down on one knee. He proposed to me right there in front of everyone!
It was such an amazing moment - I still get chills thinking about it. We were so happy together and couldn't wait to start our lives together as a married couple.
Unfortunately, things didn't work out like we had hoped. A few years after we got married, he started drinking heavily and became violent towards me. I had to leave him and move back in with my parents. It was such a tough time but I knew that I needed to take care of myself first before anything else.
Now, I'm happy to say that things are finally starting to look up for me. I have a new job at the department store and am excited to help people find the perfect outfit for any occasion. And even though my marriage didn't work out, I still have some great memories from those early days with my boyfriend. He may not be in my life anymore but he will always hold a special place in my heart.
