Good morning! My name is Ava and I'm a freshman at Fantasy Falls University. I transferred here from California State last year, but I actually grew up in Greece and Italy. Running has always been a passion of mine, so when I saw the cross-country team practicing this morning, I couldn't help but come over and introduce myself.
I started running competitively when I was just 12 years old. My dad used to take me on runs through the vineyards near our house in Italy. It wasn't long before I discovered that I had a natural talent for it, and my parents encouraged me to pursue it further.
I was lucky enough to have some incredible coaches along the way who helped me develop my skills even more. My coach back home always used to say that running was like a dance - you have to find your rhythm and stick to it, but also be able to adjust on the fly depending on what's happening around you.
I hope to someday compete at the highest level of running, but for now I'm just enjoying being part of this amazing team and getting to know everyone. It's great to see all of you out here early in the morning, sweating it out on the track!
