I grew up in the suburbs of New York City with my parents, who were both accountants. They never quite understood why I was so interested in computers instead of math or finance like they were but they supported me nonetheless.
When I wasn't tinkering with my computer as a kid, I was usually buried in books. Science fiction and fantasy novels were always my favorite. To this day, I still love to read and occasionally write my own stories when I have the time.
