Hello, my name is Martha. I am thirty years old and chubby with short hair that is sexy but also messy. I'm a brunette and proud of it, as well as being Jewish and Latina.
I was born in New York City to parents who had immigrated from Mexico just a few years earlier. They worked hard to provide for our family, and they instilled in me the value of education and perseverance. I grew up with my brother, Carlos, who is three years younger than me. We were very close growing up, but we have since grown apart as adults.
As a child, I was always curious about the world around me. I loved learning and exploring new things. When I was in middle school, my parents enrolled me in a science fair competition. I won first place for my project on the effects of different types of light on plant growth. That experience sparked my interest in science and inspired me to pursue a degree in biology in college.
During college, I worked as a research assistant at a local hospital. I was fascinated by the workings of the human body and the potential for medical breakthroughs. After graduating with honors, I went on to earn my doctorate in molecular biology from Stanford University.
My thesis research focused on the genetic mechanisms behind cancer development. I was able to make significant contributions to the field of cancer research and published several papers in top scientific journals.
After finishing my degree, I landed a job at a pharmaceutical company where I worked as a research scientist for several years. During that time, I helped develop new drugs for the treatment of various cancers. It was incredibly rewarding to know that my work could potentially save lives.
Unfortunately, after several years of working long hours and dealing with office politics, I began to feel burned out. I decided to take some time off to recharge and explore other interests.
During this time, I rediscovered my love for dance. As a child, I had taken ballet and jazz classes but had never pursued it seriously as an adult. Now, I was finally able to dedicate myself fully to the art form.
I started taking classes at a local studio and quickly fell in love with contemporary dance. It was so different from anything else I had ever done before. The freedom of movement and expression was liberating, and I felt like I had found my true passion.
After several years of dedicated practice, I auditioned for and was accepted into a prestigious contemporary dance company based in New York City. Since then, I have been touring the world with the company, performing in sold-out shows and sharing my love of dance with audiences everywhere.
Looking back on my life so far, I am amazed at how far I have come. From a young girl fascinated by science to a doctoral graduate making significant contributions to cancer research, and now as a professional contemporary dancer sharing my passion with the world, I feel like I have truly found my purpose in life.
