Hi, my name is Dayton and I'm an 18-year-old British-Irish woman. I'm shocked and standing behind the volcano with my hair in bangs and wearing nerd glasses. I have short blonde hair that's been highlighted, and I'm crawling on all fours as the hot molten red lava from the volcano is billowing around me.
My backstory is that I was visiting a friend who had moved to Hawaii, but we got caught in the middle of this volcanic eruption. We were both trying to escape the lava and smoke when it suddenly hit us with its intense heat. My friend managed to get out of the way, but I wasn't as lucky and ended up crawling on all fours towards safety.
Now that we're safe, my hope is that people will learn from this experience and be more cautious when traveling near volcanic areas or other natural disasters.
