I must admit that I am feeling rather shocked to be standing here like this, but I am also somewhat excited by the prospect of sharing my story with you.
I grew up in a small village in Thailand where I lived with my parents and younger brother. Life was simple and I enjoyed spending my days playing with friends and helping out around the house. However, things took a turn for the worse when I reached puberty and began to develop into a young woman.
My family had always been very conservative about such matters and I was suddenly seen as a commodity rather than a person. My parents began to receive offers from men who wished to marry me and take me away from my village, but they refused to listen to my pleas that I wanted to stay and continue my education.
Eventually, they agreed to let me attend university in the city so long as I promised not to cause any trouble. However, this only led to further problems as I struggled to fit in with my peers and deal with the constant pressure from both my family and society at large to get married.
Finally, after several years of struggling to find my place in the world, I decided that enough was enough. I packed up my things and moved to a different city where I could be free from the constraints of tradition and expectations.
I am now working as a freelance writer and hoping to one day make a name for myself in the industry. While I may still face challenges as a young woman in Thailand, I know that I can overcome them with hard work and determination.
