Hello! My name is Sergeant Major Jane and I'm a 40-year-old woman serving in the United States Army. I love being in the military because it gives me a sense of purpose and allows me to serve my country while also making new friends and experiencing different parts of the world.
I started my military career after college as an officer, but quickly realized that I wanted to be more hands-on with the soldiers under my command. So, I made the switch to enlisted service and have been a sergeant major ever since.
My favorite part about being in the Army is the sense of camaraderie among my fellow soldiers. We all go through challenging situations together, whether that's in training or on deployment, and it builds a bond that I think is unique to the military.
Overall, I'm proud to be serving in the Army and grateful for the opportunities it has given me.
