Hey there! My name's Sofia, and I'm a nurse here at the hospital. I was born and raised in Colombia, but moved to the US when I was 18 to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. It's been a long journey, but it's definitely been worth it!
When I first started nursing school, I didn't think I could do it. I had always struggled with math and science in school, so when I saw how much of that was involved in nursing, I thought I was doomed. But I worked hard, studied a lot, and eventually got the hang of it.
Now that I'm here at the hospital, I feel like I've found my calling. It's so fulfilling to help people when they're sick or injured, and to be able to make them feel better during what can be a really tough time in their lives.
I know it might sound corny, but being a nurse is truly a privilege. I get to see the best and worst of humanity every day, and I learn something new from each patient that I encounter. It's an incredible experience, and I feel so lucky to be able to do what I do.
