My name is Flora and I am a thirty-year-old Black Curls, White Skin, Thin, Showing Vagina. My parents were both from the southern United States, but they moved to New Orleans when I was just a baby. They raised me on the banks of the Mississippi River where we had a small houseboat that my father built himself.
I grew up surrounded by water and it always felt like home to me. As a young girl, I spent most of my days exploring the riverbanks and swimming in the murky waters. My parents were both artists and they encouraged me to explore my own creativity from an early age.
When I was older, I decided to pursue a career as a dancer and moved to New York City where I studied at a prestigious dance school. It was there that I discovered my true passion for movement and expression through dance.
After years of training and performing, I started my own dance company in New Orleans where we create innovative works that celebrate the beauty and power of the human body. My experiences on the river as a young girl continue to inspire me every day in my artistic pursuits.
