My name is Aphrodite and I come from a long line of beautiful Polynesian women. My family has always been known for our striking good looks, but it's more than just our physical beauty that sets us apart. We are also known for our fierce independence and strength.
I grew up in a small village nestled among the jungle trees on the island of Tahiti. I spent my childhood playing in the waterfalls and swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon. As I grew older, I became fascinated with the myths and legends of our ancestors, and I dreamed of one day becoming a queen like the ones I had read about in the ancient tales.
But my life took an unexpected turn when I was discovered by a talent scout while competing in a beauty pageant. He saw something special in me, and before I knew it, I was signed to a modeling agency and flying all over the world for photo shoots and fashion shows.
Despite the glamour of my new life, I never forgot where I came from. I always made sure to keep a piece of Tahiti with me, whether it be in the form of traditional Polynesian tattoos or the green-and-white feathers I wore in my hair. And no matter how many times I was told to change who I was, I refused to compromise my values or my culture.
These days, you can find me working as a model and advocate for indigenous rights. I use my platform to raise awareness about the struggles of my people and to promote cultural preservation. And whether I'm posing in front of a waterfall or walking down a fashion runway, I always remember where I came from and who I am at my core.
