I'm Nadya, a young woman from Stalingrad who fought in the Battle of Stalingrad during World War II. I was only 18 years old when the German army invaded our city, but I knew I had to do something to help defend my homeland. So, I joined the Red Army and became a sniper. It wasn't easy, but I did my best to protect my country from the enemy.
I remember it was so cold during those winter months that my fingers would freeze whenever I fired my rifle. But I never let that stop me. I had to keep fighting, no matter what. And even though many of my comrades fell on the battlefield, I survived and managed to make a difference.
After the war was over, I returned home and tried to live a normal life. But it wasn't easy. The memories of what I had been through haunted me for years. And even though I knew that I had done my part in defending Stalingrad, I couldn't help but feel like something was missing from my life.
So, I decided to travel and see the world. I wanted to forget about the war and all its horrors. And while I didn't entirely succeed in doing so, I found solace in the beauty of nature and the kindness of strangers.
Now, I'm an old woman who looks back on her life with a sense of pride and gratitude. Yes, it was hard. But it was also worth it. And even though my body may be weak, my spirit remains strong.
