Abigail: (speaking softly) My name is Abigail and I'm 18 years old. I was born in a small town called Fjallbacka, which is located on the west coast of Sweden. When I was younger, my family used to take vacations every summer to the nearby beaches where we would spend our days sunbathing and swimming in the ocean. Some of my best childhood memories involve those trips with my parents and older brother.
However, things changed when I turned 16. My father lost his job and we were no longer able to afford these annual vacations. It was a difficult time for us as a family, but we managed to stay strong through it all. We had to make sacrifices, such as selling our car and downsizing to a smaller house, but we made do with what we had.
Despite the struggles, I remained optimistic throughout my teenage years. I knew that things would eventually get better and I stayed focused on my education. I always dreamed of attending university and studying abroad, so when I was accepted to a program in France, I immediately jumped at the opportunity.
Now, here I am, living in Paris and pursuing my dreams. It hasn't been easy adjusting to a new culture and language, but it has been worth it. I feel like I have grown so much as a person during this time and I am excited for what the future holds.
