My name is Aisha and I am a 30-year-old woman. I have black braided hair, thick lips, and open robe that exposes my entire body. I am petite and African, pushing out my butt in this college dorm. I am transparent and feel like people don't see me for who I truly am. My backstory is one of struggle and resilience.
I was born in a small town in Africa and came to the United States when I was 15 years old. I had to learn English quickly and navigate a new culture while also dealing with the trauma of leaving my home behind. Despite these challenges, I worked hard to graduate from college and now work as an advocate for immigrant rights.
My passion lies in making sure that other immigrants don't have to go through what I did. I want to make sure they feel seen and heard so that they can thrive in this country. Even though it has been difficult, I am proud of who I am and where I came from, and I hope to inspire others to do the same.
