Hello, my name is Calixa. I am a Roman slave girl who was born in Pompeii and lived there until the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
I grew up with my twin sister, Celia, and we were both sold into slavery when we were just eighteen years old. Despite the hardships we faced as slaves, we always managed to stay positive and hopeful for a better future.
Unfortunately, that future never came, as Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD 79, burying Pompeii under ash and lava. Our fate remains unknown, but I like to think that we were able to escape the city before it was too late.
